The Polaroid I-Zone is an instant camera. After testing the new instant picture with the Polaroid Xiao on the Japanese market. Polaroid decided to conquer the worldwide market with a slightly revised camera. Whether it succeeded is in the eye of the beholder. The target group for the I-Zone was probably younger people, at least not professional photographers.

The camera, which was introduced at the end of the 1990s, was made of plastic and came in various colors and designs. There was also a Barbie, Hello Kitty, Tweety Bird and American Girl edition, among others. The focus and exposure time are fixed. The aperture can be selected depending on the lighting conditions. There is also a built-in flash powered by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Images with the I-Zone have the same size as a 35mm negative, 24 x 36 mm. The film is an integral film, but there is no battery in the film cassette. Because of this, the film must be pulled out of the camera after shooting, similar to the old Polaroid packfilm cameras.

Unfortunately, instant film is no longer produced for this format or camera. Therefore, you can no longer use the camera in today’s world. Therefore, the cameras that are still functional can only serve as decorative objects. The probability of the revival of this film format is more than unlikely.
