The Fujica STX-1 is a reflex camera. It was produced by Fuji and sold in the late 70s to early 80s. It is the successor of the Fujica ST605n. The biggest innovation compared to the ST605n is the newly introduced lens mount.
In Germany, the camera was called “Porst CR-1” at Photo Porst, a large photo dealer at that time.
The lenses of the Fujica STX-1 are interchangeable. Lenses with a Fujinon X bayonet / Fujica X mount can be used with the camera. It is necessary to focus the lens manually on the desired subject.
The Fujica STX-1 has a built-in light meter, for which the batteries are required. The exposure is measured by the lens of the 35 mm camera (TTL). The aperture and exposure time can be freely selected. There is no automatic mode.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. A more external flash can be used at the PC flash port or Hot Shoe for pictures.
Films for the Fujica STX-1
The Fujica STX-1 is a 35mm camera and needs 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced today and are quite easy to get. A great film choice for color photos is the Kodak Portra 400* and for black and white pictures the Ilford Delta 100*.
The color film is processed in the C-41 development process. This development process is carried out by all photo laboratories offering the development of 35mm films.
The Fujica STX-1 has a built-in self-timer and an option to connect a cable release. There is also a thread for a tripod. The power supply for the 35mm camera is provided by two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
The Fujica STX-1 can today only be found used. The condition of the camera and whether it still works is today the main factor on the value of a used copy of the camera.
