What is the difference between the LC-A+ and the LC-A+ RL?

What is the difference between Lomo LC-A+ and LC-A+ RL from Lomography?

The only difference between the two cameras is the lens. The lens of the LC-A+ RL (RL stands for Russian Lens) comes from original Russian production. The normal LC-A+ has a copy of the Russian lens and is made in China. However, this is a very good copy, so that one does not notice a big difference.

The Chinese lens differs only in the mixture of the glass and the other fixing ring. Otherwise, the two 35 mm cameras are identical. However, the cameras themselves are both manufactured in China.

The Lomo LC-A+ RL is more something for collectors and enthusiasts. For the normal photographer the normal LC-A+ is also sufficient.

You can see if the lens is from the LOMO PLC Factory in St. Petersburg with the lens cover of the camera half open. If there is the imprint “Lens Made in Russia” it is the RL.
