The Uni Film 100 is a color negative film. It was sold under the Uni Film brand in the Spanish-speaking world. The material was probably produced by a well-known manufacturer of photographic films.
The Uni Film 100 is designed for color images and has a sensitivity of ISO 100. A higher ISO value makes the film more sensitive, resulting in shorter exposure times or a smaller aperture. The ISO of 100 is perfect for everyday shots and vacation memories.
Expired film
It is often the case that unexposed film stock that is no longer in production is only available with an expired expiration date. The date is simply a guarantee by the manufacturer of the quality of the product up to that point, and older film stock may lose light sensitivity depending on its age and storage conditions. To avoid underexposure of photos, it may be advisable to reduce exposure settings to a lower ISO.
When color film has expired, this can result in a reduction in color brilliance, hue shifts, and increased film grain in the photos. However, optimal storage of unexposed material can minimize quality loss.
Developing the film
The Uni Film 100 is developed using the C-41 process. Fortunately, development is still possible at many photo labs. Therefore, the color film can be developed without any problems.
Availability and alternatives for the Uni Film 100
The iso 100 color film was only available as 35mm film. With one roll of film, you could press the shutter 12 times. The cartridge containing the film was marked with a DX code. Suitable cameras for the 35mm format are available from various manufacturers such as Mamiya, Yashica or Nikon. However, there are also other cameras that are suitable for the use of 35mm film.
The production of the Uni Film 100 has been terminated. For 35mm cameras, a replacement film would be the Kodak Gold 200*. This film is perfect for everyday use or vacation.
