The Revue 300 C is a model of Foto Quelle’s own brand. The company from Nuremberg distributed the model in the 70s. For 139 D-Mark one could order a copy. The production probably took place in the halls of King KG from Bad Liebenzell, Germany.
The 35 mm camera comes with a fixed lens. The name of the manufacturer for the lens is “Color-Isconar 40mm f/2.8”. The focal length is 40 mm and the largest aperture of the lens is f/2.8. The lens has to be focused manually. There is no sensor to check the distance.
The camera has a built-in selenium light meter. Next to the viewfinder is the exposure window. It is designed for films from ISO 25 to ISO 400.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. This can only be used in conjunction with a cable trigger. For long exposures there is also a thread for a tripod.
An external flash can be used with the Hot Shoe. Batteries are not necessary for the 35 mm camera. It is fully mechanical.
Films for the Revue 300 C
The Revue 300 C is designed for the 35mm format. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore, some manufacturers still produce for this format. A great film choice for color photos is the Kodak Portra 160* and for black and white pictures the AgfaPhoto APX 100*.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. C-41 films can be developed by most photo laboratories.
