The Polaroid Spirit Hanshin Tigers is an instant camera. It was presented to the public in the 1980s. It has the same range of functions as the Polaroid OneStep 600.

The camera is black. Next to the lens is the Hanshin Tigers logo.

Hanshin Tigers is a baseball team from Japan. It played their first season in 1936 and is still active today. It now plays in the Nippon Professional Baseball Central League and is owned by Hanshin Electric Railway Co, Ltd, a private railroad company.

The Polaroid Spirit Hanshin Tigers stands out for its user-friendly features. Most of the setting options common to other types of cameras have been omitted. Its simplicity allows it to be used on many occasions. For example, it is suitable for parties and also cuts a good figure at weddings. The camera also cuts a decent figure when traveling.

The most important settings are preset. Aperture and shutter speed, for example, cannot be changed by the user. The lens has a fixed focal length. It is not possible to exchange the optics. The lens does not have a zoom function. The shortest focusing distance is 120 cm. This minimum distance must be maintained for sharp images.

A flash bar can be connected when shooting in low light conditions.

Films for the Polaroid Spirit Hanshin Tigers

The most important thing for taking pictures with the Polaroid camera is the instant films. The original film stock of the American company Polaroid can no longer be purchased. However, there is a new edition under the same name from a new company.

Both a color film and a black and white film are available for the camera. For color images with the camera, there is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. To create black and white images, you can reach for the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. The quality of the films is also confirmed in test reports.

One pack is enough for eight pictures. Contact with light outside the camera can destroy unexposed film material. For longer storage, you should find a place that is as dry as possible. Also, it should not be stored too warm.

Each of the eight images measures 10.8 x 8.8 cm. An area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm is provided for the actual image. The rest is filled by a white surface. Are white frames too boring? Then you can buy editions with colorful frames.

Is there any compatibility of Instax films? No, Fuji’s films do not fit the Polaroid instant camera.

Batteries

What type of battery is needed for the Polaroid Spirit Hanshin Tigers? In this type of camera, the battery is found in the film cassette. So when you replace the film, you also replace the battery at the same time. A second battery is not required for the instant camera.

If the camera with film inside has not been used for a long time, the battery may have discharged. Of course, without sufficient power, the camera will no longer function. Replacing the old film with new film stock and thereby a new battery will solve the problem.

First, the film is inserted. To do this, open the film door by pushing the slider on the side of the housing forward. Now the cassette with the film material can be inserted. Then the flap can be closed again. The camera now removes the protective film from the film.

There is also a conceivable alternative to Polaroid cameras. One can reach for instance for the Instax Mini 11* and LomoInstant Square*. Fresh film material can still be purchased for the cameras.
