The Olympus Zuiko Auto-S 40mm f/2 is a lens from the 1980s. The factory where the lens was built was located in Japan. It was designed for the OM system and can be used on the SLR cameras with the OM mount. You can also use the lens on a modern DSLR via an additional adapter.
The lens comes with a fixed focal length of 40 mm. Therefore, it is part of the normal lens group. f/2 is the largest aperture of the fixed focal length. The smallest aperture is f/16. The lens must be focused manually. The manufacturer states 30 cm as the closest focusing distance.
The six lens elements of the Olympus Zuiko Auto-S 40mm f/2 are arranged in six groups. A filter with 49 mm thread, e.g. a color filter, can be screwed in front of the lens. An additional lens hood is also available. The weight is specified at 140 grams. With its overall length of only 2.5 cm, it belongs to the group of pancake lenses.
