The Olympus Zuiko Auto Fisheye 8mm f/2.8 is a lens. It was produced in a factory in Japan. The lens is the lens with the lowest focal length of the OM system. It is among the most expensive lenses for the system and was not produced in very high numbers.
The manufacturer lists 8 mm as the focal length of the lens. It therefore belongs to the group of fisheye lenses. The largest aperture of the lenses is f/2.8. f/22 is the smallest available aperture. At 8 mm, the lens does not fill the format, but puts a circular image on the film. A 180 degree diagonal angle of view is recorded.
The focus of the lens must be set manually before each image. For sharp pictures, you must not get closer than 20 cm to your subject. Focusing is rarely necessary, because the depth of field is so high.
A filter cannot be screwed on. But there is a built-in filter turret with four filters, UV, yellow, orange and red.
The lens is suitable for SLR cameras with Olympus OM mount.
The number of elements of the Olympus Zuiko Auto-Fisheye 8mm f/2.8 is 11, which are arranged in 7 assemblies. According to the manufacturer, it weighs 640 grams, which makes it one of the heavier ones.
