The Olympus OM-10 QD is a 35mm camera from the 70s. The difference to the Olympus OM-10 is the data back of the camera. Which allows a time to be imprinted on the film.
Unlike the single digit OM models, it was not possible for the normal user to exchange the back of the Olympus OM-10. Therefore, an extra model was introduced to the market with the QD. The QD stands for Quartz Data.
Except for the back and the different name, this model does not differ from the normal OM-10.
Features
The SLR camera was manufactured in Japan and has a lens mount in the Olympus OM bayonet system. The camera is compact and lightweight, which makes it an ideal companion for photographers who are traveling or looking for a portable camera.
Focus
The Olympus OM-G has manual focus, which means that the photographer must manually adjust the lens to get a sharp image. The focus ring is located on the lens and can be easily rotated to adjust the sharpness of the image.
Viewfinder
The camera has a pentaprism viewfinder that provides the photographer with a clear and bright view of the image. The viewfinder shows the image through the lens and provides an accurate representation of composition and focus.
Shutter speeds and Bulb mode
The Olympus OM-G has a shutter that ranges from 1/1000 second to 1 second. Bulb mode is also available, which allows the photographer to manually open the shutter and keep it open as long as they see fit. This is useful for long exposures where a slow shutter speed is required.
Exposure meter
The camera has a light meter that helps the photographer find the right exposure setting for the image. The light meter measures the light entering through the lens and recommends an appropriate exposure setting.
Built-in flash and flash connector
The camera does not have a built-in flash, but it does offer a hot shoe flash port and a PC flash port to use an external flash. The flash sync speed is 1/60 second.
Tripod and cable release thread
The camera has a tripod thread that allows the photographer to mount the camera on a tripod and take stable shots. The cable release thread is also present to stabilize the camera and minimize shaking during shooting.
Self-timer
The Olympus OM-G also has a self-timer function that allows the photographer to include himself in the picture or just take the picture without shaking.
Power supply
The camera is powered by 2 LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*), which provide sufficient power to operate the camera.
Films for the Olympus OM-10 QD
Of course, you can still take pictures with the camera if it is not broken. In the Olympus OM-10 QD photo films are exposed, more precisely 35mm films. The simplicity and reliability of the 35mm format still make it a popular film format, which is why some producers continue to produce for it. Nice films for black and white or color images are the Ilford XP2 Super* and the Kodak Portra 400*.
