The Minolta A-2 LT is a rangefinder camera. It was introduced in 1958 by Chiyoda Kōgaku Seikō. The model, which is partly based on the Minolta A-2, was produced in Japan.

The lenses of the 35 mm camera can be exchanged. There are two lenses for the mount specially designed for this camera. The Rokkor 45 mm f/2.8 and the Tele-Rokkor 100 mm f/4.5.

The 35 mm camera does not have autofocus. You have to focus the subject by hand. The rangefinder helps with focusing and indicates if the correct distance is set.

The Minolta A-2 LT does not have a built-in exposure meter. Exposure must be metered or estimated with an external device and can then be set manually. The Citizen MVL central shutter allows exposures from 1/500 second to 1 second. A bulb mode is available for long exposures. In this, the shutter remains open as desired.

The use of a flash is possible via the PC flash socket. A tripod can be connected to the 35mm photo camera. A cable release can also be used with the camera. Additionally, the self-timer can be used for taking pictures. Electricity is not required for taking pictures. Fast forward is of course manually.

Films for the Minolta A-2 LT

The metal camera is a 35mm camera and therefore requires 35mm film for photography. 35mm films are still produced today and can be developed in most laboratories. Possible films for the Minolta A-2 LT are the Fujifilm Superia 400* for color images and the Ilford HP5* for black and white images. Adox, Foma, Rollei and the like, of course, also offer films for this format.

The development of the color film is done in the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab. The black and white film has to go into a black and white developer. This type of development is also offered by many labs. At home, the development, which is not particularly difficult, can also be done. You can easily get the right developing chemistry on the Internet.
