The Mamiya Auto-Lux 35 is an SLR camera. It was introduced by the Japanese company Mamyia in 1963.
The 35mm camera comes with a fixed 48mm Mamiya-Sekor lens. The maximum aperture is f/2.8; the smallest aperture is f/22. A filter can be attached to the 40.5 mm thread. The camera is focused manually. There is no autofocus system on this model.
The shutter of the 35mm camera is a Copal-X leaf shutter and supports from 1/500 s to 1/15 s and comes with a Bulb mode.
A selenium exposure meter helps with exposure. This can be used either in aperture priority or aperture priority mode (photographer sets exposure time and the camera sets aperture), or just meter and the photographer sets the values accordingly. The exposure meter does not need batteries, but therefore cannot function correctly in the meantime. The reason for this is that the metering cells can lose accuracy over the years or even stop working completely. Before buying / using the camera, you should therefore check the light meter for function and compare the result with a reliable metering result.
The Mamiya Auto-Lux 35 requires 35mm films (eBay / Amazon*). These are still readily available today and are developed by most labs. The exposure meter supports films with a sensitivity between ISO 100 and ISO 400, and here you can reach for films from various manufacturers, such as Kodak, Ilford or Fujifilm. Of course, you can use both color and black-and-white films with the camera from Japan.
A connection for a flash and a thread for a tripod has the Mamiya Auto-Lux 35. Batteries are not required by the Mamiya Auto-Lux 35. The dimensions of the camera body are 135 mm x 75 mm x 76 mm. It weighs 690 grams.
