The Lomo’Instant Wide el Nil was introduced as an instant camera in March 2024 and is a special edition of the Lomo’Instant Wide from Lomography. Together with it, the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass el Nil was also presented to the public. They are part of the Lomography Travel Collection.
The speciality of this edition from Lomography lies only in the design; the technical functions remain unchanged compared to other versions.
The design is in a cream colour. A retro postcard is printed on the front and back. The postcard shows the Nile. In the foreground you can see a person with a camel and palm trees. In the background is the desert with several pyramids.
The operation of the camera is user-friendly and offers various customisation options, such as manual focus adjustment and exposure compensation. There is also a tripod thread, an integrated flash and options for bulb mode and multiple exposures. An external flash can also be connected.
Accessories for the Lomo’Instant Wide el Nil include an ultra-wide-angle attachment, a close-up attachment, a splitter, a lens cap with remote release, coloured flash filters, a photo tripod, photo clips and instructions.
The supplied splitter allows you to cover parts of the image field for creative photo effects. One part of the image is photographed and then the other, making it easier to create surreal images.
Films for the instant camera
The necessary instant film, Fujifilm Instax Wide films, must be purchased separately. These films are supplied in cassettes, each containing ten shots, and develop the image a few minutes after the shutter has been released. The image should not be moved during development.
The required instant film Instax Wide Film* and the four AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) for operation are not included with the Lomo’Instant Wide el Nil. The film allows the creation of images with vivid colours and a white frame, with printed frame versions also available.
