Lomography LomoChrome Color ’92 400

The Lomography LomoChrome Color ’92 400 is a colour negative film. Lomography takes over the production of the film. It was introduced as 35mm film in July 2023. Later, the film was also available for pocket film cameras. In August 2023, the medium format film was presented. This was a limited edition.

This film emulsion, which works with a sensitivity of ISO 400, can be used in different lighting conditions and therefore promises flexibility in photography.

At the heart of the Lomography LomoChrome Color ’92 400 are its characteristic colours and rough film grain, which together instil a nostalgic touch in every shot. In particular, it is characterised by its dynamic colour palette, which is realised through a special colour layering process. This interplay of bold reds and vibrant yellows, harmonising with cool blues, creates a captivating play of colours, rounded off by delicate pastels and elegant blacks.

Depending on the time of day, the emulsion can produce different nuances, creating a soft and dreamy effect in bright sunshine that transforms into a picturesque atmosphere in the evening hours.

Film processing

Once a film is fully exposed, the next step is to develop it. It should be treated according to the C-41 process. One can have the development done in specialised photo labs, but it is also feasible to do it at home with the right chemicals.

Thanks to this standardised procedure, the result remains constant, regardless of the place of development. With the necessary know-how, you can also develop the film in a private laboratory. At the end of the process, you get the developed film strips with your shots.

After development, it is common to either make photo prints or digitise the film. Many photo labs directly offer the service of creating prints in different sizes. For those who want to use their photos digitally, there is the option of scanning the film strips. There are various methods and devices, from basic scanners to specialised machines, to digitise negatives. Once digitised, the photos can be shared or printed in various formats.

Film formats

Films are available for 35mm cameras as well as for medium format cameras and pocket film cameras.

Typically, up to 36 images can be captured on a 35mm film. Well-known brands such as Canon, Rollei and Olympus offer cameras designed for 35mm film. However, there are also other camera models that are compatible with these films.

For the exposure of medium format films, a corresponding camera is required. Various models of well-known brands such as Pentacon, Pentax and Hasselblad are available on the market.

The 35mm film was sold for 12,90 Euro, the medium format for 11,90 Euro and the pocket film for 8,90 Euro by Lomography.
