The LomoChrome Classicolor ISO 200 35mm is a new color negative film from the Lomographic Society, handcrafted as a homage to the color, warmth, and timeless charm of analog photography. It is produced using a unique color layering process and new dye-coupler technology. It was introduced in October 2025.
This color film is characterized by its special color palette. Skin tones are rendered with pleasant warmth, reds are described as strong and energetic, while blues and greens remain clear and vibrant.
In direct sunlight, the film gains a gentle sheen, and in shadier environments, the color palette tends towards earthy, warm tones. The LomoChrome Classicolor ISO 200 delivers detailed results with a medium grain in all lighting conditions.
The stated sensitivity of the material is ISO 200. The ISO value describes the light sensitivity of the film material; a higher value means higher sensitivity.
The emulsion, referred to as the “2025 Formula,” is a limited edition. Due to the artisanal manufacturing process, slight differences between production batches may occur.
Film Storage
The storage conditions of unexposed film material can affect the quality of the subsequent photos. For long-term storage, a dry and cool environment is ideal. To ensure the quality of the shots, exposed film material should also be developed promptly.
Film Development
To obtain the finished images after exposure, the film must be developed using the standardized C-41 process. This process is offered by most photo labs. Unlike black and white film development, the process for color negative films is standardized.
In Germany, the LomoChrome Classicolor 200 35mm can also be sent for development through large drugstore chains. The result of the development is film strips with the captured images as negatives.
Subsequently, prints can be made from the negatives, or they can be digitized for further use. Many development labs offer the creation of prints as an option.
Digitizing the film strips can also be handled by many photo labs, but it is also possible at home with a suitable scanner. The digitized images can then be used digitally or printed.
Formats
The LomoChrome Classicolor ISO 200 is currently available in 35mm format for small-format cameras. A roll of film contains 36 exposures and is DX-coded, allowing compatible cameras to automatically set the film sensitivity. Suitable cameras for this format are offered by manufacturers such as Minolta, Lomography, or Mamiya, for example. According to Lomography, 120 (medium format) and 110 formats are also planned for the near future.
