The Viltrox AF 26mm F2.8 EVO is a compact wide-angle lens in pancake format, introduced in 2026. It is designed for mirrorless full-frame cameras and is available with Sony E and Nikon Z mounts.
The model belongs to the manufacturer Viltrox's EVO series, which is positioned between the entry-level models and the Pro series. The optics are aimed at people looking for a flat lens for daily use, travel, or street photography.

The optical construction comprises 8 lenses arranged in 6 groups. The optical elements include 1 high-refractive-index element and 2 aspherical lenses. These elements serve to correct aberrations and keep the housing size small. The lens surfaces are coated with a multi-layer coating to reduce reflections and ghosting.
The focal length of 26 mm produces an angle of view of 81.2 degrees on full-frame cameras. When used on cameras with an APS-C sensor, the crop factor results in a field of view equivalent to a focal length of approximately 39 mm.
The maximum aperture is 2.8 and can be stopped down to 16. Inside, an aperture with 7 blades works. The minimum focusing distance is 0.2 m from the sensor plane, allowing a maximum magnification of 0.2x. Autofocus is handled by an integrated stepper motor. In addition to autofocus, manual focusing is also possible.

The housing is made of metal. The version for the Sony E system has dimensions of 66 mm in diameter and 23.8 mm in length, with a weight of 130 grams. The version for the Nikon Z mount has a length of 25.8 mm and weighs 170 grams.
The housing offers both a focus ring and an aperture ring with noticeable detents. At the lens mount, there is a rubber gasket to protect against moisture. A USB-C interface is integrated into the housing for software updates. The filter thread has a diameter of 43 mm. Accessories include a matching lens hood and a magnetic lens cap.
