The Konica Lexio 115 is a compact camera from Konica. It was sold in the early 2000s. In addition to this model, the Lexio 70 was also available.
Lens
The Konica Lexio 115 features a built-in Konica zoom lens with a focal length of 38 to 115 mm and a maximum aperture of f/4.5 to f/12.5. It consists of six elements arranged in seven groups. The camera offers autofocus, which works from a distance of 0.6 meters (2 ft). The zoom is adjusted using a zoom lever. There is no filter thread.
Exposure Settings
The Konica Lexio 115 features automatic exposure metering (AE) with a CdS light sensor. Exposure is controlled by a program automatic mode. There are various exposure modes that can be selected via a mode switch: Auto Flash, Red-Eye Reduction, Self-Timer/Remote Control, Flash On (Fill-in Flash), Night Portrait, Flash Off, +1.5 EV Exposure Compensation, and Landscape Mode. Shutter speeds range from 1.5 to 1/300 second. Exposure compensation of +1.5 EV is possible.
Flash System
The Konica Lexio 115 has a built-in flash. There are various flash modes, including Auto Flash, Flash On (Fill-in Flash), Flash Off, and Red-Eye Reduction. The flash range is up to 5 meters at ISO 100 and a 38 mm focal length, and up to 1.8 meters at a 115 mm focal length. Flash readiness is indicated by a red lamp in the viewfinder. The flash recharge time is approximately 6 seconds. An external flash cannot be connected.
Additional Features
The Konica Lexio 115 offers a self-timer with a delay of approximately 10 seconds. A remote control is available as an option. It has a tripod thread. A date display programmed up to the year 2050 is available (only on the Auto-Date model). The diopter correction in the viewfinder can be adjusted between +1 and -3 diopters.
Dimensions and Weight
The dimensions of the Konica Lexio 115 are 111 x 61.5 x 38.5 mm. It weighs 200 grams without battery.
Regarding batteries, the camera is powered by a CR2 battery (eBay / Amazon*). This battery is easily found online. One charge is sufficient for 15 rolls of 24-exposure film, with flash used for half the number of pictures.
A CR2025 battery (eBay / Amazon*) is required for the additional remote control.
Film Recommendations
The Konica Lexio 115 supports films with ISO values from 25 to 3200, which are automatically detected by DX coding. For films without DX coding, ISO 25 is used as the default.
A good film for color photos is the Kodak Gold 200*. For black-and-white photos, the Ilford Delta 400* is suitable.
The number of images per film roll depends on the roll length (24 or 36 exposures). The automatic film transport system automatically rewinds the film after the last exposure.
Quick Operation Guide
- Inserting the Battery: Open the battery compartment and insert a CR2 battery according to the polarity markings.
- Loading the Film: Open the back cover, insert a 35mm film roll, and pull the film out to the mark. Close the back cover.
- Turn on the Camera: Slide the lens cover aside.
- Aiming at the Subject: Look through the viewfinder and zoom in with the zoom lever until the subject is properly framed.
- Focusing and Shooting: Press the shutter button halfway to focus. When the AF lamp is lit, press the shutter button all the way down to take the photo.
- Select flash mode: Use the mode dial to select the desired flash mode.
- Turn off the camera: Slide the lens cover closed to turn off the camera.
