The Kodak S900 Tele is a compact point-and-shoot camera. It was manufactured by Kodak from 1988 to 1993. Country of production of this model is Hong Kong. The body of the camera is black and made of plastic. There is a handle on the right side to make holding the camera a little easier. The new price of the camera at that time was a little over 200 US dollars.

The S900 Tele is the only model in the S-series that doesn’t come with a fixed focal length. It is equipped with two lenses to provide the ability to zoom. There is one lens with 34 mm and one with 62 mm. With a switch on the back, the photographer can choose through which lens to take the picture. The focus of the 34 mm is fixed, while the 62 mm lens comes with an autofocus. The maximum focal length is f/5 (34 mm) and f/7 (62 mm).

The 35mm camera has a built-in exposure meter. Exposure settings are automatically set by the Kodak S900 Tele. The sensitivity is read out via the DX code on the cartridge. The only shutter speed, which is thus also used for each shot, is 1/100 second.

A CR-P2 battery (eBay / Amazon*) is responsible for the power supply. The battery is also necessary for the built-in flash, among other things. The camera does not have a variety of flash modes, but there is a fill-in flash mode.

Films for the Kodak S900 Tele

What kind of films does the Kodak S900 Tele need? The camera from the late 1980s needs 35mm format films. This type of film is still produced and can be processed by most photo labs without any problems. Nice 35mm films for color or black and white photography are the Kodak Portra 400* and the Kodak T-Max 100*. Both films are good for everyday, vacation, or wedding photography. The film is advanced after each shot and rewound back into the cartridge at the end of the film.
