The Kodak Pro Image 100 is an affordable color negative film that is great for everyday photography. With a sensitivity of ISO 100, it is ideal for shooting on sunny days, vacation pictures at the beach, or other outdoor activities.
Development
The color film is developed using the C-41 process, a standard method for processing color negative film. Since the C-41 process is offered by most laboratories, Kodak Pro Image 100 development is straightforward and widely available.
Digitization of negatives is also offered by most photo labs. However, it is also possible to convert the images into digital form after development. Corresponding devices are available in many price ranges.
Formats and Availability
The Kodak Pro Image 100 is manufactured exclusively in 35mm format and thus can only be used in 35mm film cameras.
The film roll features DX encoding, which allows compatible cameras to automatically read the sensitivity. One roll of the color film usually fits 36 frames.
The color film produced by Kodak is mostly sold in packs of five rolls and is available at many photo specialty stores and online stores.
Alternative color negative films
For lovers of 35mm format color negative film, there are numerous alternatives, such as Kodak Gold 200*, which is also available in 35mm format. This film offers similar color characteristics and is a good choice for various lighting conditions due to its higher sensitivity (ISO 200).
In addition to Kodak, other manufacturers such as Fujifilm or Lomography also provide color negative films in different sensitivities and formats. This allows photographers to choose the right film depending on individual requirements and preferences.
