The Holga 120 Pan is a panorama variant of the popular plastic camera. It is loaded with normal medium format.
The 120 Pan thinks a 180 degree angle of view and exposes a 6×12 cm area onto the film. The format is identical to that of Lomography’s Belair X 6-12. Because of the large format, only six exposures will fit on a roll of 120 film. When spooling the film, you should always make sure to stop only at the even numbers. You skip as you odd numbers and only snap at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. Otherwise the images will overlap later.
A 90 mm lens made of plastic with a maximum aperture of f/8 is installed in the classic black camera. Focusing is of course manual with the Holga-typical four stops. The normal exposure time is set to 1/100 second. However, the Holga 120 Pan also has a bulb mode.
The Holga 120 Pan does not have a connection for a cable release as standard. However, it is possible to retrofit this with a corresponding accessory. Furthermore, the camera can be mounted on a tripod to enable blur-free pictures even in difficult lighting conditions.
Two flashes can also be used via the hot shoe to achieve optimal illumination of the subject. The Holga 120 Pan is also equipped with a rudimentary viewfinder that allows for rough alignment of the subject.
A small bubble level helps align the camera and keeps the framing straight. Unlike many other cameras, the Holga 120 Pan does not require batteries, which makes it particularly environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
In addition to the medium format panorama Holga, there is also a version for 35 mm film, the Holga 135 Pan.
