The Halina Vision MAF presents itself as a compact snapshot camera, ideal for unplanned recordings. It was developed by the Hong Kong-based company Haking.

Camera properties

Your 35mm lens is fixed and although the exact focal length is not given, it is believed to be between 28mm and 35mm. With the help of the autofocus system, the sharpness of the image is automatically adjusted. A sliding cover protects the lens from possible damage and contamination.

Aperture and exposure time are controlled by the camera itself, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.

Of course, the camera is also equipped with an integrated flash. A special function for reducing “red-eye” is missing on this model, as is a tripod thread and a self-timer. In return, you can attach a wrist strap to the camera.

The camera is powered by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), although it is advisable to use rechargeable batteries.

Film options for the Halina Vision MAF

According to the user manual, the Halina Vision MAF accepts 35mm film. These films are still available from various suppliers and can be developed.

Suitable films for this compact camera are, for example, the Kodak Ektar 100* for color images and the Ilford Delta 400* for black and white images. Of course, products from other brands such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma are also compatible.

Most photo labs offer the development of these films. You can have prints made directly from the negatives, or digitize them and use them as a digital file.

The negatives of the Halina Vision MAF have the dimensions 24 mm x 36 mm. A motorized system ensures automatic film transport after each exposure. A counter on the top shows the number of pictures that have already been taken.

At the end of the film, it is automatically rewound back into its cartridge. Only then should the camera be opened to remove the film and have it developed. If the film has not yet been rewound, the camera must not be opened under any circumstances to avoid damage from exposure to light.
