Halina Vision 100

The Halina Vision 100 presents itself as a compact snapshot camera, ideal for spontaneous recordings. This was offered by the company Haking from Hong Kong.

Camera properties

Fitted with a fixed 35mm lens, it offers a putative focal length of between 28mm and 35mm, although the exact spec isn’t given. There is no autofocus, instead a focus-free system is used in which the focus point is fixed. A protective sliding door ensures that the lens is protected from damage and dirt.

The Halina Vision 100 has no setting options. Aperture and shutter speed cannot be adjusted on this model.

Despite the lack of a special mode to avoid “red-eye” and the absence of a tripod mount and a self-timer, the model benefits from a built-in flash and the ability to attach a wrist strap.

The camera uses two AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) for its power source, although using rechargeable batteries is a good choice.

Films for the Halina Vision 100

According to the user manual, the Halina Vision 100 accepts 35mm film, which can still be obtained and processed from various manufacturers.

Suitable films for this compact camera are, for example, the Kodak Gold 200* for color shots and the Ilford Delta 100* for monochrome shots. Brands such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma offer alternatives.

The majority of photo labs offer the development of these films. The negatives can be printed directly or digitized and used as digital files.

To get to the next picture, you operate a thumb wheel on the back of the model. A counter on the top records the number of pictures taken. A viewing window on the back provides a view of the inserted film.

When the film is finished, it is wound back into the cartridge using a crank. Only after this process should the camera be opened to remove the film and have it developed. Opening prematurely could allow light in and damage the film.
