The Fujifilm Neopan SS 100 is a black and white film. The sensitivity of the film is specified as ISO 100.

The sensitization of the emulsion of the Fujifilm Neopan SS 100 is orthopanchromatic.

The Neopan SS 100 is no longer in Fuji's lineup. It was only offered as 35mm film. As an alternative, one can reach for the Fujifilm Neopan 100 Acros II. However, there are also films from other manufacturers that you can use with your 35mm camera. The Ilford Delta 100*, for instance, is a solid film that you can use in everyday life.

Developing the film

The film must be processed in a black and white developer. This development is offered by professional photo labs, but is also possible at home. The appropriate chemicals and accessories can be ordered online. If you want to develop a manageable amount of film, developing at home is usually much cheaper than in a lab.

The development process goes something like this. With a chemical developer, the chemicals must first be mixed according to the instructions. Then the developer must be poured into the developing can with the film and left there for a certain amount of time. The time required for development depends on the type of developer used, the temperature, etc., but is usually between 3 and 10 minutes. The developer is then removed and a fixing solution poured in. Once development is complete, the film must be thoroughly rinsed with water to remove all residue. Then it can be digitized, for example.

A special scanner is needed to digitize the film material. It is also possible to make prints from the negatives using an enlarger. If you choose this way, you can completely do without digital technology and work like the photographers in the 50s.
