The Ilford Pan 100 is a black and white film. Harman Technology in Great Britain is responsible for its production. The film is sold mainly in Asia. However, it is also available for purchase in parts of Europe. It is positioned as a lower cost alternative to Ilford's professional black and white films.

Ilford Pan 100 is a classic film stock for black and white photography. It is panchromatically sensitized. The nominal speed is specified as ISO 100. This makes it suitable for common everyday shots. Especially for a sunny day on vacation it is a good choice. If you need a bit more sensitivity, you can reach for the Pan 400.

Developing the film

There is no standardized development process like there is for C-41 film. The Pan 100 can be developed in a variety of black-and-white developers. Black and white development can be done at home with the right equipment and chemistry. However, it is also possible to take the film to a developing lab. The negatives can be digitized after development, for example with a flatbed scanner.

Formats

The Pan 100 is sold for 35mm cameras only. 36 images usually fit on one roll of film. The film cartridge of the 35mm film is equipped with a DX code. This allows a compact camera, for example, to read the sensitivity of the film material. There is no variant for medium format cameras.

In principle, the film can be used in all 35 mm cameras.
