The Diana+ MEG Edition is a medium format camera. This special edition plastic camera is the result of a collaboration between Lomography and The White Stripes, a rock band from Detroit, USA. It is named after the singer, Meg White.
This collaboration also resulted in the Holga ‘Jack Edition’. The camera is designed in the colors of the band, black, white and red.
In the scope of supply are beside the camera, among other things also the Lomography Ringflash, a ring flash for the analog camera, the Peppermint Mask filter and the book “Diana Vignettes” contained. The Peppermint Mask Filter was made especially for this edition. This is a mask on which is the Red Peppermint Swirl, a red swirl. This mask is inserted into the camera and puts it on the film.
Unlike the F+, the Diana+ does not have a port for a flash. The Diana+ has a plastic lens and two exposure speeds, Normal for daylight exposures and “B” for long exposures. There is also a connection for a tripod.
Any type of medium format film can be used in the plastic camera, e.g. black and white, redscale and slide film. There is a choice of two image formats. Thus, either 12 or 16 images fit on the roll film.
A good film for color images is the Kodak Portra 400*. This photo film is very flexible and comes with a wide exposure latitude. The film is developed using the C-41 process. This process is offered by most photo labs. Development is usually a bit more expensive for medium format film than for 35mm film.
Note
Although the ring flash comes with but how is this fired, the camera has no hot shoe or other connection for a flash. The only possibility is therefore probably the manual ignition of the flash.
