The Colorsplash Chakras Edition was designed by Staple Design with a rubberized finish and their trademark dove. The camera is finished in gray, white and red. The color choice was inspired by the ubiquitous bird, the dove, in big cities. Otherwise, it is identical to the regular Colorsplash from Lomography.
In addition to the camera, the package also includes a book, the Colorsplash Chakras book. It was designed by Staple Design and describes the philosophy and history of the Colorsplash Chakra project. Over 2000 images were selected and published by 107 lomographers.
Films for the Colorsplash Chakra Edition
Cartridges with 35mm film are exposed in the Colorsplash Chakra Edition. 35mm films are still offered by various manufacturers. A great film choice for color images is the Kodak Portra 400* and for B&W images the Kodak T-Max 100*. Of course, there are many other films that can be used with the camera. For example, there are suitable films from Ilford, Fujifilm or even Lomography.
The color film is processed in the C-41 development process. This development process is carried out by all photo labs that offer development of 35mm films. Often very uncomplicated, is the delivery of the films at one of the large German drugstore chains.
In most cases, you get the prints of the photos directly to the development. A digitization of the negatives is also part of the program with many providers. However, it is also possible after the first development.
In contrast to the development of color films, the development of black and white films requires a different process and therefore offers different possibilities, depending on the type of film. Black and white film development is also offered by most photo labs. In most cases, however, the development of this type of film material is somewhat more expensive.
