Samsung SR 4000

The Samsung SR 4000 is an SLR camera. It was manufactured from 1997 to 2002 and is the only model of this camera genre from the South Korean conglomerate. On the domestic market, the 35mm photo camera was sold under the name "Samsung Kenox GX-1".

The lenses of the Samsung SR 4000 can be exchanged. For this purpose, a Samsung MF bayonet was installed, which is similar to the Minolta AF bayonet. In many cases, the camera comes with the Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 50mm 1:1.4, and there are two other lenses, 28-70mm 1:3.5-4.5 and 70-210mm 1:4-5.6. The Samsung SR 4000 has autofocus system.

Measuring exposure is made easier by the built-in light meter. The light meter was built for films with a sensitivity of ISO 25 to ISO 5000. Exposure metering takes place through the lens on the 35mm SLR (TTL).

The Samsung SR 4000 has four exposure modes, aperture priority, aperture priority, program automatic and manual mode. Shutter speeds range from 1/4000 sec to 30 seconds. A flash is built in for low-light images. It has a range of up to 3 meters at ISO 100, but there is also a hot shoe for an external flash.

A thread for a tripod is built into the Samsung SR 4000. There is also a self-timer. This can take either one or two shots in succession.

The dimensions of the 35mm camera are 14.2 x 6.1 x 9.1 cm. At the same time, it weighs 410 grams. The power source of the 35mm camera are two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Samsung SR 4000

The Samsung SR 4000 takes its pictures on 35mm film. 35mm film is still readily available today and is developed by most photo labs. The image size on the negatives are 24 mm x 36 mm.

For black and white images, you can go for the AgfaPhoto APX 100*. For color images, the Kodak Ultramax 400* is an option. The color film is a color negative film and is developed using the C-41 process. The C-41 process is offered by almost every photo lab. For example, something the large drugstore chains in Germany offer the development of color films.
