The Sakura The Color SMC 1 is a simple snapshot camera for the 35mm format. It comes with a plastic case and is very easy to use.
Functions and operation
The camera has a fixed focus lens with a focal length of 31mm and an aperture of f/11. The focus range starts at one meter, so subjects at this distance and beyond are in sharp focus. The shutter speed is set at 1/100 second, which is sufficient for most outdoor lighting conditions. A built-in flash provides additional lighting if needed.
Operating the camera is incredibly easy. After inserting a 35mm film and an AA battery (eBay / Amazon*) you're ready to go. Pressing the shutter button automatically advances the film and activates the flash when necessary. An integrated hot shoe allows the use of an external flash for even more flexibility.
A practical feature of the Sakura The Color SMC 1 is the automatic film rewind. As soon as the film is full, it is rewound at the push of a button and can then be removed.
Handling and tips
For best results, we recommend holding the camera with both hands and gently pressing the shutter button. When taking photos indoors or in poor lighting conditions, the flash should be switched on. Red-eye reduction can be activated for portrait shots to avoid unsightly effects.
The Sakura The Color SMC 1 is particularly suitable for snapshots and spontaneous recordings. Due to its easy operation and compact format, it can be easily taken anywhere.
The use of color negative film is recommended to obtain vivid and high-contrast images. A good choice is the Kodak Gold 200*.
