Praktica PLC 2

The Praktica PLC 2 is a SLR camera for 35mm films. It was produced by VEB Pentacon from 1975 to 1978.

The objective of Praktica PLC 2 is interchangeable. Lenses with an M42 thread can be used with the camera. The M42 thread is more standardised and manufacturer-independent, which is why there are a large number of lenses for this type. You have to focus the lens by hand. The 35 mm camera does not have an autofocus function.

The Praktica PLC 2 has a built-in light meter. The exposure is measured through the lens of the 35mm camera (TTL). The aperture and shutter speed can be freely selected by the photographer. The camera has a bulb setting.

Films for the Praktica PLC 2

The Praktica PLC 2 is an analogue camera and needs to be equipped with 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced today and can be developed in most photo labs. For color shots there is the Kodak Portra 400*. One way to get black-and-white images is the Kodak T-Max 100*.

The Praktica PLC 2 comes with a self-timer. There is also a connector for a cable release and a thread for a tripod. The power source of the 35mm camera is one VARTA V21 PX battery.

The camera can be bought today only used. The prices for the camera vary depending on the condition.
