Praktica L2

The Praktica L2 is a single lens reflex camera. It was produced by Pentacon between 1975 and 1980.

The lenses of the Praktica L2 can be exchanged. This is possible trough the M42 lens mount. The Praktica L2 does not provide an autofocus function. The focus is set manually.

The exposure must be measured externally. The 35mm camera does not have a built-in exposure meter. The desired f-stop number as well as the shutter speed can be set by the user. The 35mm camera has a bulb mode. With the Bulb setting, it stays open as long as the photographer holds the shutter button down. An external strobe or a flash unit can be connected to the Hot Shoe.

Films for the Praktica L2

For taking pictures with the Praktica L2, 35mm films are needed. The 35mm format is very common, which is why there are still some manufacturers and many development laboratories. Possible films for the model are the Fujifilm Superia 400* for color images and the AgfaPhoto APX 400* for black and white shots.

The Praktica L2 offers the possibility to connect a cable release and has a thread for a tripod.

The Praktica L2 can today only be found used. The price for a used copy of the model vary depending on the condition.
