The Porst-Chinon Uniflex Reflex TTL is a single lens reflex camera. It was made for Photo Porst and presented in the 60s. The model is based on the Ricoh Singlex TLS and was built by Cosina. Later the camera was sold under the name "Porst Reflex TTL".
The Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL comes with interchangeable lenses. Lenses with an M42 thread can be used. Often you will meet the 35 mm camera with the Porst Auto Reflecta 1.7/55 mm. The M42 thread is more standardized and manufacturer-independent, so a large number of lenses have been produced. The first M42 lens was invented by Zeiss. Some major producers of M42 lenses were Zeiss, Pentax, Pentacon and Zenit/KMZ. The Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL has no autofocus. The lens is focused manually.
The Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL has a light meter for taking pictures. It is designed for films with a sensitivity of ISO 25 to ISO 1600. The correct exposure is measured through the lens. The shutter speed and aperture can be selected by the photographer.
The Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL has a bulb mode for long exposures. A flash can be used via the PC flash socket. The Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL comes with a self-timer. There is also a connection for a cable release and thread for a tripod.
The Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL measures 14.8 x 9.2 x 5.3 cm. It weighs 720 grams. Power is supplied by a PX675 1.35V mercury battery.
Films for the Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL
The exposure area of the Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL is 24 mm x 36 mm. The Porst Uniflex Reflex TTL is a 35 mm camera and requires 35 mm film. This type of film is still in production and can be processed by most photo labs without problems. Beautiful films for black-and-white or color pictures are the Kodak T-Max 400* and the Kodak Portra 160*.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab. Most drugstore chains in Germany offer the development of color films.
