The Porst Reflex C-EE is a 35mm camera. It belongs to the group of SLR cameras and was built by Cosina for the West German photo retailer.
The Porst Reflex C-EE offers the possibility of interchangeable lenses. It comes with an M42 thread. The Porst Color Reflex Auto 1:1.7 f=50mm is often found on the 35mm camera. The M42 thread used to be very common, so there are a lot of lenses for this mount. The lens thread was developed by Carl Zeiss in Jena in 1938. M42 lenses were manufactured by Pentax, Pentacon, Meyer-Optik and Beroflex, among others. The Porst Reflex C-EE does not have an autofocus. Focusing is manual.
The 35mm camera has a built-in meter for measuring the correct exposure. The correct exposure is measured through the lens. The exposure time and aperture can be freely selected. However, there is also an automatic exposure control.
The Porst Reflex C-EE has a bulb mode. An external flash can be fired via the built-in hot shoe. The camera can be triggered by self-timer or with an additional cable release. A thread for a tripod is available. With a size of 14.7 x 9.9 x 4.8 cm, the Porst Reflex C-EE weighs 760 grams.
Films for the Porst Reflex C-EE
The Porst Reflex C-EE uses 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced today and can be developed in most labs. A good choice for the Porst Reflex C-EE is Kodak Portra 400* (color film) and Ilford XP2 Super* (black and white film).
The color negative film is developed using the C-41 development process. The C-41 process is offered by almost every photo lab. A development of a 35mm color film is possible e.g. at most drugstore chains in Germany.
The photo camera is only available second-hand. The condition and possibly accessories decide the price. The new price of the camera was 875 D-Mark at that time. Today, the price is in the low two-digit euro range.
