  • Type Instant camera
  • Type of Film Image/Spectra
  • Focal Length 125 mm
  • Max Aperture f/10

The Polaroid Spectra 1200si is an instant camera. It is designed for the Image/Spectra format. It was introduced in the early 2000s. The 1200si offers significantly more capabilities than its sister camera, the 1200i.

The camera is equipped with a fixed lens that has a maximum aperture of f/10. This lens is also equipped with an ultrasonic focusing system that focuses quickly and accurately on the subject. The camera automatically adjusts the exposure to ensure that the images are always well exposed.

On the back of the camera, there are various settings options. For example, the autofocus or built-in flash can be turned off for more creative freedom when composing the image.

There is also a bright/dark control that can be used to influence the exposure to achieve a better result in difficult lighting conditions.

The self-timer switch is also found in this location, making it easy to take group photos or selfies.

The camera was designed for 1200 film at 12 frames per pack and Spectra / Image 990 film at 10 frames per pack.

The camera has a viewfinder. This viewfinder is not connected to the lens and therefore only gives an impression of the later image. On the bottom of the body of the camera there is a thread for a tripod.

Films and batteries

The Polaroid Spectra 1200si requires instant film. The appropriate films are restored after Polaroid ended production. The company "Impossible" offers color and black and white films.

Currently they are the Polaroid Originals Color Film for Image & Spectra* and the Polaroid Originals B&W Film for Image & Spectra*. Both instant film packs also contain a battery to power the camera. One pack contains eight shots.
