The features of the OneStep 600 are quickly enumerated. Lens with fixed focus, electronic shutter and automatic exposure that can be influenced with the light/dark control. The instant camera does not have a built-in flash, but it does have a socket for a flash bar. However, it requires the rather exotic "Flash 600" flashbars.

The successor, the Polaroid Amigo 620, had a few more features.

Before taking pictures with the camera, you have to flip it open, this also serves as protection for the lens.

The housing of the Polaroid OneStep 600 is made of plastic, kept in black and is decorated by Polaroid's famous rainbow. The model was also available in other colors, including corporate branding. In some editions, the difference is also simply the name imprint.

Films for the instant camera

The Polaroid OneStep 600 requires the 600 instant film. Today, Polaroid no longer makes instant films, but The Impossible Project produces suitable films for the OneStep 600. Marketed are the films now again under the original brand name.

For example, for color images the Polaroid Color Film for 600* and for black-and-white images the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*.

There are eight images in a pack, not ten as before. Since the frame counter on the back is designed for the old films, it counts down from ten to zero. If you take pictures with the Impossible films, it is important to replace the film at "2" and not at "0".
