The Polaroid Spirit 600 is a camera from Polaroid. It is an instant camera. The features of the model correspond to the Polaroid One Step Flash. The model was offered in different color versions.
One advantage of the Polaroid Spirit 600 is its user-friendliness. Many setting options, which are common in other camera types, were eliminated. Because it is so easy to use, there is a low entry threshold and thus versatile uses. For example, weddings or parties would be good application areas for the camera. Even on vacation, the camera cuts a very good figure.
The basic exposure settings cannot be changed. Free selection of shutter speed and aperture is not possible. The lens is fixed and cannot be changed. A zoom, as found in smartphones, is not available in this model. To get sharp pictures, a minimum distance of 120 cm to the subject should be kept.
The Polaroid camera does not have to do without a built-in flash. It is used automatically. In low light conditions, the flash is particularly valuable.
Films for the Polaroid Spirit 600
The be-all and end-all of taking pictures with a still camera is instant film. The original film material is no longer produced. A new company has been selling material for the film format again since 2010.
There is a suitable color film and a black-and-white film for the camera. The Polaroid Color Film for 600* is the film for color photos. For classic black and white images, the Polaroid B&W Film for 600* is suitable. They enjoy great popularity among a wide range of photographers.
In one box there are eight photos. The film material is very sensitive to light and therefore should not be exposed to light before the actual exposure. The ideal storage conditions are found in a clean and dark place.
The size of the images, 10.8 x 8.8 cm, has not changed with the new manufacturer. The captured image occupies an area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm. The rest is filled by a white frame. But there are also Polaroid films with colorful frames.
Important. The instant films from the house of Fujifilm do not fit with the Polaroid Spirit 600.
Batteries
What batteries are required for the instant camera? The camera is powered by a battery inside the film cassette. It contains enough power for all unexposed images in the film cassette. Even when the flash is used. So changing the film also provides a new battery. The instant camera itself does not require another battery.
If the camera with film inside has not been used for a long period of time, this may cause the battery to self-discharge. As a result, in many cases the camera will stop working. In this case, it is sufficient to remove the photo film and replace it with new film material.

First, you need to load the film. To do this, slide the slider forward on the side to open the film door. Then the film cassette is inserted. The flap can then be closed again. Now the camera ejects the protective cover of the film.
Now it is possible to start taking pictures. Hold the camera on the subject and press the shutter button. The camera technology transports the image from the film cassette out of the camera and the development of the image starts. Within a few minutes, the development is complete and you can view the image.
Alternatives
If one cannot find the camera, it is advisable to resort to other options. The first option is, of course, the Polaroid One Step Flash. It has the same features. Moreover, it uses the same film stock.
You might also want cameras from other manufacturers as an alternative. Outside the Polaroid world, you can find the LomoInstant Square* and Instax Mini 90*. Suitable film material is also still produced for both cameras.
