The Polaroid Now Gen 2 Basquiat Edition is a limited instant camera edition. It is the result of a collaboration between the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and the Polaroid successor from the Netherlands. The model was introduced in 2024 and offers the same range of functions as the 2nd generation of the Polaroid Now.
In addition, a film with similarly designed motifs was also presented.
Camera functions
The camera has autofocus to ensure sharp images, as well as a built-in flash for shooting in low light conditions. A special feature is the double exposure function, which allows two images to be combined in one photo, which opens up creative design options. The self-timer makes it possible to put yourself in the spotlight. The Polaroid Now Gen2 is also equipped with a battery that is charged via USB-C and is an environmentally friendly alternative to disposable batteries.
Films for the instant camera
The Polaroid Now Gen2 is compatible with Polaroid's i-Type films, which are available in a variety of versions including color, black and white and special editions. The instant images develop within 15 minutes and offer a unique tactile experience that digital photos cannot offer.
The current color film is Polaroid Color Film for i-Type*. There is also a black and white film with the Polaroid B&W Film for i-Type*.
The Polaroid Now Gen2 is compatible with the classic Polaroid 600 films, but the use of these films is not recommended. 600 films are generally more expensive than the i-Type films optimized for Now Generation 2 and contain an unnecessary battery since the camera already has its own battery.
