The Nikon EF400SV is a snapshot camera. It was introduced in 1999 shortly before the new century. The model was also offered under the name "Nikon Nice Touch 5". This model does not differ in the functions. A quite similar camera was introduced in the same year as Nikon AF240SV. However, it has an autofocus.
The 35mm photo camera comes with a fixed focal length. The focal length of the lens is 28 mm. The maximum aperture is f/5.6. The focus of the lens is fixed. The viewfinder was especially advertised for the camera. The viewfinder should be particularly bright and large. The SV in the name of the camera therefore stands for Super Viewfinder.
The camera has a built-in light meter. The aperture and exposure time are set automatically and cannot be changed. The built-in flash provides sufficient light. The power ranges up to 2,7 meters at ISO 100 and can reduce the appearance of red eyes in the photos if desired. Two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) provide the power supply.
Films for the Nikon EF400SV
The Nikon EF400SV is designed for the 35mm format. The film is automatically transported and rewound by the 35mm camera.
35mm films are still produced today and can be developed in most laboratories. A 35mm film for colour photography is the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible black and white film is the AgfaPhoto APX 100*.
The colour film is processed in the standard C-41 process. This development process is offered by most laboratories. The process for developing black and white film is not standardized. There are different possibilities for the development. You have full control if you develop the film yourself.
Nikon EF400SV QD
A variation of the camera was offered under the name "EF400SV QD". This model is almost the same in terms of functions, but comes with a built-in clock. The Quartz Date model allows the date and time at the time of taking the picture to be imprinted on the photo.
