LomoApparat Paris Edition

  • Manufacturer Lomography
  • Type Viewfinder camera
  • Type of Film 35mm
  • Focal Length 21 mm
  • Max Aperture f/10
  • Focus Fixed focus

The LomoApparat Paris Edition is a 35mm camera. It is a camera edition from Lomography. Its range of functions is similar to the normal LomoApparat. However, the design has been changed. It was introduced on July 1, 2024. The price is 109 euros RRP at the time of introduction.

Functions of the camera

The camera is equipped with a permanently installed 21 mm wide-angle lens that offers a maximum aperture of f/10. This configuration enables shots with a wide angle of view, pronounced contrasts and characteristic vignetting.

There is no autofocus because the distance setting is fixed. To ensure sharp images, a minimum distance of 50 cm from the subject should be maintained.

The LomoApparat Paris Edition does not have a light meter, so the exposure must be set manually. The aperture is fixed, while the exposure time can be selected between 1/100 second (N) and Bulb (B). In Bulb mode, the shutter remains open as long as the shutter button is held down.

An integrated flash with a range of 0.5 to 2 meters (at ISO 100) supports shots in difficult lighting conditions. The flash can be deactivated if necessary and is equipped with a frame for color filters to individually color the light.

The camera has a tripod thread, which is particularly recommended in Bulb mode to avoid camera shake. A wrist strap can also be attached.

Power is supplied by a standard AA battery (eBay / Amazon*), which is only needed to operate the flash.

Films and development

The LomoApparat Paris Edition is designed for use with 35 mm film. There is a wide selection of color and black and white films that can be used with this camera. Popular options include the Kodak Ultramax 400* for color images and the Kentmere 100* for black and white images.

Color films are developed using the C-41 process, which is available at most photo labs and drugstores. Black and white films can be developed either in a photo lab or at home, with detailed instructions available online.

The LomoApparat Paris Edition negatives measure 24mm x 36mm. Since the camera does not have an automatic film advance, the film must be manually wound after each shot by operating the thumbwheel on the back of the camera.
