Halina 1610 Motor

  • Manufacturer Halina
  • Type Viewfinder camera
  • Type of Film 35mm
  • Focal Length 34 mm
  • Max Aperture f/4.5
  • Focus Fixed focus

The Halina 1610 serves as a snapshot camera. It was manufactured in Asia by the Haking company. It is similar to the Halina 160 and 260, but has a motor drive for the film and a different type of lens.

According to the marking on the underside of the plastic body, it was made in Hong Kong.

The device has a fixed 34mm lens that is not interchangeable. There is no focus adjustment or autofocus. The maximum aperture is f/4.5 and the lens has a sliding protective cover.

There is no built-in exposure meter on this model. However, a dial on the front allows you to set the film speed, including ISO 100/200, 400 and 1000. Depending on the ISO setting, the aperture varies, while the shutter speed remains constant at around 1/125 second.

An internal flash improves low-light shots and can be turned on via a slider.

Two AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) power the Halina 1610 motor. These are primarily necessary for the flash, but they also feed the film transport motor.

The instructions state that it has neither a tripod hole nor a self-timer function. There is also no multiple exposure function.

Film suggestions for the Halina 1610

The Halina 1610 uses 35mm film. These are still widely available, and many photo labs offer development. Kodak Ultramax 400* is optimal for color images, while Ilford Delta 400* is ideal for black and white images. Other 35mm film manufacturers include Fujifilm, Foma, Lomography, Adox and Rollei.

Color films are usually developed using the C-41 process. Black and white films can be processed either professionally or at home with the right equipment. Instructions for doing this are available online.

A standard film allows you to take around 36 photos. After each shot, a motor advances the film. Rewinding at the end of the roll is also automated.

A small indicator at the top gives information about the number of shots taken. A viewing window at the back provides information about the film used.
