The Canonflex RP is an SLR camera. It is a slimmed-down version of the Canonflex. For example, the self-timer on this model is started by a simple lever and the prism cannot be easily replaced.
With lens, the price of the Canonflex RP was 48,000 yen at the time. For a Canonflex, also with lens, you had to pay 59,500 yen.
The lenses of the Canonflex RP can be exchanged. This is made possible by the Canon R bayonet. In most cases, you will find the Canon R 50mm f/1.8 on the 35mm camera. You have to focus the lens by hand. The 35mm camera does not have an autofocus function.
The Canonflex RP does not have a built-in light meter. However, there is an attachable light meter for the camera. Another option is to measure the exposure with an external light meter or a corresponding app.
The shortest exposure time that the camera's shutter allows is 1/1000 sec. There is also a bulb mode. The option for using a tripod and a cable release provides the necessary stability. For shooting with a flash, the SLR has a PC flash socket.
Films for the Canonflex RP
The Canonflex RP is a film camera and is loaded with 35mm film. These films are still manufactured and can be specified by almost any developing vendor. A color film for the 35mm camera would be the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible film for black and white images is the Kodak T-Max 400*.
