The Ansco 1090 AFS is a compact camera from the Ansco brand. It was made in Hong Kong. Functionally, it is similar to the Haking MW 35AF from the Asian company Haking.
A permanently installed lens with a focal length of 38 mm and a maximum aperture of f/3.8 is available.
Integrated technology and sensors allow automatic focus. It is advisable to keep a distance of at least 100 cm from the subject. There is no manual focus correction.
The light sensor in the Ansco 1090 AFS is responsible for excellent exposure. The film sensitivity can be adjusted on the lens. The camera automatically controls the exposure by adjusting the time and aperture, with only the aperture being variable. A constant shutter value is 1/125 second.
A built-in flash illuminates in low light conditions. The Ansco 1090 AFS also offers connections for cable releases and a tripod. A lanyard/camera strap can easily be attached.
It draws its energy from two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), with both standard and rechargeable variants fitting and ensuring continuous use. The camera cannot be used without batteries.
Films for the Ansco 1090 AFS
The Ansco 1090 AFS only comes to life with 35mm film. She prefers the use of 35 mm film, which is developed in specialized laboratories.
Among the top 35mm film proposals are Kodak Ultramax 400* and Kodak T-Max 400*, which consistently show top results. Other brands like Lomography, Rollei, Ilford, Fujifilm and Adox are not inferior to them.
The format of the exposure is 24 mm x 36 mm. A classic film (135-36) usually contains 36 exposures. An integrated motor ensures that the film is automatically transported after each exposure and when rewinding.
