The Carena AF 35 ML is a compact camera. It was sold by the German photo dealer Photo Porst. It was probably produced by the Haking company. The production took place in Hong Kong. Functionally it corresponds to the Haking MW 35AF.
A permanently installed lens offers a focal length of 38 mm and the largest possible aperture of f/3.8.
Innovative technology and sensors enable automatic focus adjustment. It is advisable to keep a distance of at least 100 cm from the subject. There is no manual focus setting.
The built-in light sensor in the Carena AF 35 ML ensures optimal illumination. The film sensitivity can be adjusted directly on the lens. The camera automatically regulates the exposure and adjusts the time and aperture, whereby only the aperture can be changed. The fixed shutter speed is 1/125 second.
A built-in flash helps in less than ideal lighting conditions. The Carena AF 35 ML also offers connection points for cable release and tripod. A shoulder strap can also be easily attached.
It uses two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) as a power source. Both standard batteries and rechargeable batteries are suitable and guarantee long-term operation.
Film selection for the Carena AF 35 ML
Without 35mm films, the Carena AF 35 ML remains inactive. She prefers the use of 35mm film, which can be processed in specialized laboratories.
Favorite 35mm film options include Kodak Ultramax 400* and Kodak T-Max 400*, which consistently produce excellent results. Brands like Lomography, Rollei, Ilford, Fujifilm and Adox are in no way inferior.
The exposure dimension is 24 mm x 36 mm. A standard film (135-36) usually contains 36 exposures. A built-in motor ensures automatic film advance after each shot and when film is rewound.
A indicator on the top shows whether the film is being transported correctly. The number of pictures already taken can also be found there.
