Brenner Auto 2000

The Brenner Auto 2000 is a camera. It is a viewfinder camera. It was sold under the private label of Foto Brenner. The model was produced under the name “Halina 500” by the company Haking in Hong Kong.

The photo camera comes with a fixed lens. The name of the lens is “Anastigmat 1:2.8 F=40mm”. The lens has a focal length of 40mm. You have to focus the lens manually on the desired subject. The simple zone focus system helps to do this.

The 35mm camera has an exposure meter for measuring the exposure. It is designed for films from ISO 25 to ISO 400. The Auto 2000 burner has automatic exposure control. The aperture can be adjusted as desired.

An external flash light can be connected to the PC flash port or Hot Shoe for pictures. The 35mm camera offers the possibility to connect a cable release and has a thread for a tripod.

The power source of the 35mm photo camera is a PX625 mercury cell. The production of this type of battery has been stopped in the European Union. A possible replacement type can be a V625U cell (eBay / Amazon*). An even better alternative is probably the WeinCell replacement battery for PX625 (eBay / Amazon*), but it has a shorter life.

Films for the Brenner Auto 2000

The Brenner Auto 2000 is a 35mm camera and needs 35mm film. Films of this format are still easy to get today and are still being developed. For black-and-white shots, you can go to with the Ilford XP2 Super*. For color images, the Fujifilm Superia 400* is a possibility.

The colour film is a colour negative film and must be developed in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is offered by almost every photo lab.

The exposure area of the Brenner Auto 2000 has a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. For example, a 36-frame 35mm film can hold at least 36 photos at this size. The film in the camera must be winded manually, as there is no automatic film transport.

The Brenner Auto 2000 is no longer produced. Depending on the state of the camera, the price for a used copy vary.
