Aviva PF-1

The Aviva PF-1 is a mixture of a snapshot camera and an SLR camera. The 35mm camera was produced in China and sold by Dot Line Corp. from Chatsworth, California. The model is based on the Great Wall PF-1.

The camera comes with a fixed lens. The focal length is 40 mm and the largest aperture of the lens is f/2.8. The manufacturer’s designation of the lens is “Great Wall 1:2.8 f=40mm”. The Aviva PF-1 has no autofocus. Therefore you have to focus by hand. To get sharp pictures you have to be at least 90 cm away from your subject.

The Aviva PF-1 has a built-in light meter. This metering cell is located above the lens. This is also where the film speed is adjusted

The aperture is freely selectable. The shutter speed is not. A flash is built-in for low light or low light images. The Aviva PF-1 offers the possibility to connect a cable release and has a thread for a tripod.

With a size of 14.4 x 8.7 x 7.5 cm the Aviva PF-1 weighs 348 grams according to the manual. Power is supplied by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Aviva PF-1

According to the manual, the Aviva PF-1 needs 35mm film. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore, some manufacturers still produce for this format. For black and white images you can use Ilford Delta 400*. For colour images, the Agfaphoto Vista 200*is one option.

The colour film is a colour negative film and is developed in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is offered by almost every photo lab. For example, you can hand in your films for developing at many drugstores in Germany.
