The Agfa Agfacolor HDC 400 is a color negative film. The HDC in its name stands for “High Definition Color”. It is part of the HDC family and was aimed at amateur photographers at the time.
HDC 400 is a photographic film for color images. ISO 400 is the specified sensitivity of the material. This film speed makes it a good all-rounder for everyday use.
Today, it probably makes sense to expose the film to ISO 100 or ISO 200. Since films lose sensitivity over the years. Depending on storage, this effect occurs stronger or weaker.
Development of the film
For development, the film must This development process is performed by most photo labs. The next logical step after developing the film is making prints or scanning.
Availability and alternatives
The HDC 400 was only available as 35mm film. One roll of film was rated for 36 exposures. The cartridge was marked with a DX code. The code contains the film speed and could be read by some cameras.
Fresh material is no longer available. The production was stopped. Replaceable 35mm format film stock might be the Kodak Ultramax 400*. Replacement for the medium format film would be the Kodak Portra 400*, this is still in production.
