How do the Lomography Lomourette and the Lomography Diana Mini differ?
In short, the 2024 Lomourette is a stripped down version of the Diana Mini.
Differences
The cameras are very similar in many ways, but differ in a few key ways:
1. Aperture control:
Diana Mini: Offers a choice of two apertures (sunny/cloudy) to adjust exposure to lighting conditions.
Lomourette: Has a fixed aperture, which somewhat limits flexibility but underlines the camera’s simple character.
2. Image format:
Diana Mini: Allows shooting in two formats – the classic square format (24 x 24 mm) of the Diana family and an elongated format (24 x 17 mm). A switch on the back allows you to switch between the formats.
Lomourette: Only shoots in half format (24 x 18 mm), which doubles the number of images per film and creates a unique look.
3. Cable release:
Diana Mini: Has a connection for a cable release, ideal for long exposures (bulb mode) or blur-free shots.
Lomourette: Does not have a connection for a cable release, which puts spontaneity at the forefront.
4. Tripod thread:
Diana Mini: Is equipped with a tripod thread that allows the use of a tripod – perfect for sharp images and creative experiments.
Lomourette: Does not have a tripod thread, which underlines its compact and uncomplicated nature.
