The Polaroid OneStep Plus is an instant camera for the SX-70 format.
In terms of functions, it is practically identical to the Polaroid OneStep. However, the design of the camera, which is mostly made on plastic, is almost completely black. The front is adorned with the classic Polaroid rainbow stripe. The shutter button is round and red.
The camera’s lens is fixed and the focus can also be changed. To get a sharp picture, you should keep at least 1.2 m (4 ft) away. The camera selects the aperture and exposure time independently. The photographer can only influence the exposure somewhat with the slider on the front.
The camera requires SX-70 film, here you could use Polaroid Color Film for SX-70* for example. If you prefer to take black and white pictures, the Polaroid B&W Film for SX-70* would be an option. When taking pictures with these films you should pay attention, if you see a 2 in the film counter on the back, you have to change the film, because there are only 8 instead of 10 pictures in a cassette.
The Polaroid OneStep Plus is powered by a battery in the film pack (the film cassette). So every time you change the film, a new battery is put into the camera. If you use a film that has already expired, the battery may already be empty. In this case, it is possible either to buy a new film or to slide the unexposed pictures into a film cassette with a full battery in the dark.
A flash can also be connected. It doesn’t have a hot shoe, but you can use Flashbar disposable flashes, the Q Light Flash (also available in a matching black design) or the Impossible Flashbar by Mint.
For the international market, the Polaroid OneStep Plus was sold under the name “Polaroid 1000S“.
