The Samsung Vega 700 is a 35 mm camera with panorama function from the production of the South Korean company. The Samsung Vega 700 was also sold under the name “Samsung Evoca 70 Neo”.
The camera comes with a fixed zoom lens. The name of the manufacturer for the lens is “Samsung Schneider-Kreuznach Varioplan 28-70 mm Auto Macro”. The zoom range is 35 – 70 mm. The largest aperture is f/4.5 at 35 mm. The camera has an auto focus.
The camera has a built-in light meter. It is designed for an ISO range from 50 to 3200. The camera reads the DX code of the film cartridge and sets the light meter accordingly. Aperture and exposure time are set automatically by the camera.
A bulb mode is available for long exposures. On this model, however, the bulb mode is limited to a maximum of 60 seconds. A built-in flash is available for low-light shooting. The range of the flash is 4 meters. The Samsung Vega 700 has a thread for a tripod and a self-timer.
Measuring 11.1 x 6.5 x 3.5 cm, the Samsung Vega 700 weighs 200 grams. The 35mm camera is powered by a CR2 battery (eBay / Amazon*), which you can get in most photo shops without any problems, even easier of course online.
Films for the Samsung Vega 700
The Samsung Vega 700 requires 35mm film according to the manual. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore some manufacturers still produce for this format. For color pictures, there is the Kodak Portra 400*, for black and white pictures the Ilford FP4 Plus* is a possibility.
The negatives of the Samsung Vega 700 are 24 mm x 36 mm. This means that at least 36 photos fit onto a 36 frame 35mm film. If you use the panorama function, the number remains the same, as only two bars from above and below slide into the picture, creating the illusion of a panorama.
The film transport is automated.
