The Porst CR-1 is a SLR camera. It was sold by Photo Porst in the 80’s and produced by Fuji. The 35mm camera was also sold under the name “Fujica STX-1“.
The Porst CR-1 lens is interchangeable. For this a Fujinon X bayonet / Fujica X Mount was used. You have to focus the lens by hand. The 35 mm camera does not have an autofocus function.
The 35 mm camera has a built-in meter for measuring the correct exposure. The exposure is measured by the lens. The desired exposure time as well as the number of f-stops can be set by the user. There is no automatic mode at Porst.
The camera has a bulb setting. In this mode, the film is exposed as long as the shutter release button is pressed. A flash unit can be used via the hot shoe or the PC flash connection.
Films for the Porst CR-1
The Porst CR-1 needs 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most photo laboratories. A good choice of film is the Fujifilm Superia 400* for color photographs and the Ilford Delta 100* for black-and-white images.
The Porst CR-1 can be triggered by a self-timer or an additional cable release. A thread for a tripod is available. The needed energy for the camera is provided by two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
Value of the camera
The Porst CR-1 was manufactured in the 1980s and is no longer in production. As it is a used camera, the price can vary greatly depending on its condition and the accessories included. A camera in good condition with matching accessories can be more valuable than a worn one without additional equipment.
Collectors and analogue camera enthusiasts may be willing to pay a higher price for a Porst CR-1 in good condition, while other buyers may value price more than condition. It is also possible that certain accessories, such as an original leather case or a matching flash, may affect the price of the camera.
