Kodak VISION3 Family

The Kodak VISION3 film family includes color negative films developed for the production of motion pictures, including television series and feature films. These films are specifically designed for use in different lighting conditions, such as daylight or artificial light.

The Kodak VISION3 200T, for example, is a color negative film optimized for use under artificial light with a color temperature of 3200 Kelvin. It provides accurate color reproduction when exposed at this temperature, but may exhibit a shift towards blue tones in daylight.

If you want to use the film in daylight, you can attach an appropriate filter to the camera lens. However, this may reduce the film's sensitivity, requiring compensation.

Like other traditional film materials, Kodak VISION3 films must be developed to obtain the final images. They are usually developed with the ECN-2 development process, specifically designed for color negative films in film production. A notable difference from the C-41 process used in still photography is the removal of a coating (Remjet) during development.

Kodak VISION3 films are available in various formats, including Super 8 film and bulk film in different lengths for the 65 mm, 16 mm, and 35 mm formats. They are primarily intended for use in motion picture cameras for film production.

However, some manufacturers also offer Kodak VISION3 films in 35 mm cassettes for use in regular 35 mm still cameras. It is important to note that these films may still have the Remjet coating, which must be removed either by the user or the photo lab for development with the C-41 process.
