The Pentax Zoom 90 is a 35mm camera. It belongs to the group of snapshot cameras and comes with a plastic body.
The photo camera comes with a fixed lens. 38 mm to 90 mm is the zoom range of the lens. The maximum aperture is f/3.5 and there is no need to manually focus with the 35mm camera. The Pentax Zoom 90 has an autofocus. The closest focusing distance is 60 cm in macro mode, otherwise it is 100 cm.
The camera comes with an automatic exposure. Aperture and shutter speed are set automatically. The camera technology reads the sensitivity of the film material from the DX code on the cartridge. Values from ISO 50 to ISO 1600 are possible.
There is no real manual mode. Instead, there is a bulb mode for long exposures. Here, the limit is 60 minutes. There is also a mode for multiple exposures and interval shooting.
Of course, a self-timer should not be missing either. For this, you can also attach the camera to a tripod through the thread on the bottom.
Typical for a point-and-shoot camera, a flash is also built in. The flash takes about three seconds to charge and can work in an automatic mode. However, it is also possible to force the flash to fire.
The camera weighs 415 grams and measures 13.7 x 7.6 x 6.4 cm.
The whole camera technology is powered by two CR123A batteries (eBay / Amazon*). These batteries are very easy to find online and one battery charge is enough for a lot of pictures.
Films for the Pentax Zoom 90
The Pentax Zoom 90 is designed for the 35mm format. Possible films for the compact camera are the Kodak Gold 200* for color shots and the Kodak T-Max 400* for B&W photos. Test reports attest them good performance when used in normal applications. Of course, you can also use films from other manufacturers. For example, there are films from Fujifilm, Ilford or Foma.
The transport of the film after each image is automatic. The return transport is also done by a built-in motor. For sports shots, there is a mode for continuous shooting.
